Program Description |

The
Christmas Allocation Program initially provides an annual $10,000.00
fund for each community (or rural area) served by the Gwaii Trust
Society’s mandate. This program may be applied for and utilized at the
discretion of the individual community governance applicants, but it
must be of general benefit to community members. The program is intended
to address the needs and wishes of each individual community around the
holiday season. |

| The Gwaii Trust Society will allocate up to a maximum of $10,000.00 for each recognized community on Haida Gwaii. The recognized communities on Haida Gwaii are: | |
| • | Old Massett, |
| • | Graham Island North, |
| • | Graham Island Central, |
| • | Graham Island South, |
| • | Skidegate, and |
| • | Area ‘E’. |
|
Proposals
are required to access this fund. All proposals will include the
following: |

| • | Name of the organization, |
| • | Purpose of the project, |
| • | Budget of the project, |
| • | Timeline of the project, |
| • | Letter of support from the community, and |
| • | Letter of approval from the respective Gwaii Trust Board member. |

All
proposals must be signed off by the respective Gwaii Trust Board member
approving the submission. Proposals must be received by November 28, 2008 and the Christmas Allocation Program must be completed by January 15, 2009.
