You must fill out an online application.
Please submit all supporting documentation on the same day, missing information will be considered an incomplete application. Time: 4:30 pm cutoff. Forward all letters of support, proof of income and expense and cost quotes to forms@gwaiitrust.com or fax to the Old Massett Office at 250-626-3261 Attention Project Officer. Please call the Old Massett office if you have any questions or if you are having problems submitting the application. The two week in advance submission applies to some of our open programs and our regular programs have deadline dates assigned to them (please refer to "latest news" or programs & applications for more information.

All submissions submitted well in advance of the program deadline are greatly appreciated. This allows time for the project officers to contact applicants for compliance should any assistance be required prior to Board review.
Program Description
The Gwaii Trust Society Board of Directors has created the Healthy Humans Program to fund projects that focus on the quality of life of Haida Gwaii residents. While the program contemplates supporting spiritual healing projects, it is also broad enough to encompass pilot projects dealing with physical, medical and holistic health issues.
Guide to Applicants
The Gwaii Trust Board of Directors have allocated $150,000.00 to this program in the initial 2009/2010 fiscal year. The Board desires that this program take a broad perspective on health issues, and be open to a variety of applications from different groups, organizations and societies. Once again, the key tests for project approval at the Board level will be merit and need.
This Program supports applications that focus on improving the quality of life for residents of Haida Gwaii.

- Available for this call $50,000.00 ( three allocations call per year)
- Equity Requirement 25%
- Maximum application $50,000.00
- Keys tests: Merit & Need
- Core funding: Not Permitted
- Administrative costs 10% maximum (but not if the persons administrative of a project is a paid element of the persons employment within the organization applying)
- Facilitators cost maximum $500 per day
- Special interest given to tourism infrastructure and tourism planning feasibility studies.
- Letter of support (preferably 2 – from unrelated parties).
- Cost quotes from all suppliers and other verifiable expenses.
- Letters confirming all other income sources.
- Meet at least one Constitutional Goal and Objective of the Gwaii Trust.
- Clear project process description of all aspects of the project from start to finish – including final evaluation.
- Funded as 20% upon approval (1st request), balance through invoice matching approved advance, last 20% is held until call projects approved with as equity component will be funded to the same degree as the equity approved
- All advances will be funded upon the receipt of invoice, based on the percentage of the project funding approved
- Projects greater than $25,000.00 will be subject to a minimum of two site visits, with one occurring at project completion.
- On all projects where funding is outstanding over one year, site visits will be accompanied by a shortened reapplication from the applicant that must be re approved by the Board in order to advance any further funding.
- Projects outstanding for longer that one year will have site visits and accompanying reports forwarded to the Board at least quarterly.

The Gwaii Trust Board of Directors will not consider any information or supporting documentation received after the allocation deadline in their review of this project.
All applications submitted become the property of the the Gwaii Trust, who may publish the said applications on their website www.gwaiitrut.com or may otherwise utilize their content as the Gwaii Trust sees fit.
There are three(3) application periods for this fiscal year (2009-2010), and the application dates are: November 20, 2009, March 26, 2010, June 25, 2010.
