By: Henry Tyler Crosby – Mask Casting Workshop with Rosa Quintana

  • “This was an awesome workshop, thank you for the funding to make it possible!  Two days of packed information for me to absorb and think about.  I took notes, and a lot of pictures to match up with the notes.  We would begin work at 8:30 am, and work all day, until about 7:30 pm.  Rosa had to buy a lot of supplies from various stores in Vancouver, and I made sure to take notes on where and what we bought so that I could order from those stores in the future.  Rosa is a very thorough teacher, and if I didn’t understand something she would then explain it in a different way so that I did understand.  I really enjoyed the fact that she made me take notes, and then I explained those notes and read them to her as we did each step, to make sure that my notes were right.”

Both individual artists and organizations are eligible to apply for the arts grant.  Application requirements, guidelines, tips, and an application checklist can be found on the Gwaii Trust Arts Grant Page.  If you have any questions, or would like additional information, please don't hesitate to contact the Skidegate or Old Massett Office.  We are hear top help!

Thank you,

The Gwaii Trust Team.
